Kate Schumacher

Kate Schumacher lives with her family in Australia on Bundjalung land. She has always been a writer and an avid storyteller. She writes character-driven epic fantasy romance full of magic and myth, with rich lyrical prose and a strong sense of place, complex politics and vast, sprawling worlds. These are worlds you can get lost in, worlds where you will find fierce female characters who don't need saving, and men who support them. You will find flawed, reluctant heroes, folklore and myth, power-hungry villains, complicated alliances and a cast of relatable characters. Her writing is influenced by history, sociology, mythology, philosophy and politics. She drinks too much coffee, doesn’t sleep much and is slave to three spoiled house-cats and an overwhelming TBR pile.
